Free Motion Fun Retreat: We will load some fun tops to my HandiQuilter Forte and practice our free motion quilting. When not using the longarm, you’ll have the same sewing setup as the open sew retreat to work on your own projects.

Open sew retreats:   There will be no instructors or specific projects.  Each person will have their own sewing table and chair, with shared access to the ironing station, 4’x8’ cutting table, and 6’x8’ design wall. We have extra sewing machines if you prefer not to travel with yours; inquire directly if you are interested. The studio is open to sew 24 hours a day if you like to sew late (or early).

Each retreat is 5 days and 4 nights.  The price includes your meals, starting with dinner on Wednesday and ending with breakfast on Sunday. Airport transfer is available if needed.  Snacks and coffee, tea, and soft drinks will be available around the clock.  You’ll have access to the kitchen at any time.  Breakfast and lunch are self-serve, and dinners are prepared and served family style. The cost is $500/per person.  Alcohol is allowed but not provided.  No smoking on the property.  Retreat Deposit – a non-refundable deposit of $100 will hold your spot.  First come, first served.  Remaining balance due at arrival.  Payment by Zelle, Venmo or Cash please.

Sleeping accommodations are available for up to 8 people between the main house and the loft apartment.  We have 4 guest bedrooms with adjustable twin beds.  Bed linens and towels are provided, along with soaps, shampoos, conditioners, hair dryer, and a flat iron.

Flights to the region.  You can fly into one of 2 local airports. We will provide airport pickup and drop off if needed at PSC or ALW.

PSC is Pasco, aka Tri-Cities.  Direct flights from SFO on United.  It’s a 40 min drive to the farm.

ALW is Walla Walla airport.  Only 2 flights a day from Seattle on Alaska.  It’s a 25 min drive to the farm.

Spokane – a bit further afield has many flights, but it is 2:45 hrs drive to the farm.  You will have to rent a car if you fly to Spokane.

MicRussell Farm is a working farm with horses, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. Only the dogs live in the house. If you have allergies, please come prepared. If you’re uncomfortable around animals, this may not be the right retreat.
